Morag, Jennifer and I had thought that at the upcoming Stories in the Club on Sunday, August 11, we would celebrate our second birthday, but also announce it’s ending. I have just moved my family to Ballina, and Jennifer and Morag are also ready for new adventures. However, on Friday I was contacted by the perfect crew who are keen to take over. They are exactly who I hoped would take over!! 🙂 So please join us as we not only celebrate our second birthday but pass the baton to this exciting new leadership team. Enjoy a rich serving of stories from Scott Hall, Neil Amber, David Ashton and myself, Jenni Cargill-Strong.

August Tellers

Scott Hall is the son of a fifth-generation farmer and now runs Gabalah Syntropic Farm. Like many of those of his generation who were raised on the land, he left the bush to study and pursue a career in other fields (pardon the pun). After finding a niche in painting, he returned to the land with a new mission: to help us heal ourselves and the country with a regenerative and loving approach toward agriculture.

Neil Amber has been a seasoned and intrepid traveler since the early 1970’s. He has lived on an organic farm in Wilsons Creek for 20 years. Neil is a naturalist, herbalist and adventure seeker. He has been in love with his life partner for 35 years and has 2 adult children raised here in Mullumbimby. Neil has been a member of Mullum Magic Toastmasters for 12 years and will share a personal story.

David Ashton has been a  funeral celebrant for twenty years. He has happy stories, sad stories, stories of loss and grief, but also stories of wonderful loving relationships and shared joys: life lived to the full. David will share with you a few of these stories.

I am a professional storyteller and teacher of storytelling and I will tell my last tale as curator, a story of life transitions and new homes.

So please come along and hear some heartwarming tales, help us celebrate our second birthday and welcome the new Stories in the Club team!
