It has been a dream come true to find a venue so PERFECT for storytelling in Brisbane, which is also close to home and has a great menu and drinks!  Because I felt so at home and so welcomed by the staff, I was able to do my best performances and have had rave reviews (below). Lots of people commented on how lovely The Woods Bar is, so hopefully they will agree to have more story events there.

The full bodied enthusiasm I received from many of the women in my audience has really put wind under my storyteller’s wings. So I am planning some story events that I’d love to let you know about as the details emerge. Subscribe here to stay in the loop.

FEEDBACK

‘Jenni is a natural storyteller who had me bewitched from the beginning. She brought a humour and playfulness to the stories that gave them life but also gave us a portal into times gone by. Jenni’s singing  was delightful and allowed me time travel to a time when stories were revered, as were the storytellers. Storytelling is a lost art that Jenni has mastered and we sorely need more stories in these turbulent times.’ Willow

‘For my birthday, my dear friends bought tickets to ’ReWilding Red Riding Hood: Ancestral Tales of Daring, Difficult Women’. We are a group of three daring and sometimes difficult women and we were thoroughly entertained by Jenni’s stories. We highly recommend you see this performance while you can.’ Paula

‘The ReWilding Red Riding Hood show was such a wonderful experience. It was the first time I had attended a storytelling, and Jenni’s talent and creative flair made the show captivating. Would love to see Jenni perform again.’ Marion

‘My sister and I enjoyed the stories and the telling. You gave us just enough background and then built the story around the characters as we got to know them. I was absolutely absorbed and imagining and can still see the women washing by the river.’ Kathryn

‘Thank you for a magickal performance! I felt transported back to a medieval inn in old Britain. (It helped that it was winter.) I really enjoyed closing my eyes and listening to your wonderful storytelling. It felt vivid and entertaining and wise. I loved the links you made to everyday life and the way you elaborated on archaic terms so we might better understand. Also loved your singing! Surely you are a bard?! I love listening to storytelling and often listen to Clarissa Pinkola Estes, or Martin Prechtel or Martin Shaw, amongst others. I enjoyed your telling just as much. It feels important that oral storytelling traditions continue, when held by a person who is curious and wise to the collective needs, in my opinion – like yourself. I’m so glad you’re looking at making this a regular event as I’d love to return. Thanks again for one of the best nights out I’ve had in Brisbane.’ Pasha
